how does this antville work?

it's not possible to de-topic a topic-ed story (e.g. by selecting the first entry in the pull-down menu).

Seit dem Update wird die Umschreibung &gt; für ">" von irgendeiner Instanz so gewandelt, daß eben nicht ">" angezeigt wird, sondern die Umschreibung (für "<" funktionierts). Da aber bei macros.antville in Stories von robert beide Darstellungen auftreten, frage ich mich, ob das vom Browser abhängt, mit dem man die Story erstellt hat. Mir brennt das auf den Nägeln, weil damit auch meine Anleitung zum sauberen Zitieren von Makros falsches Zeug erzählt und darstellt.

Wie ich gerade erst festgestellt habe, funktioniert das Thumbnail-Makro nicht korrekt auf dem Mac mit IE 4.x und 5.x: Weder <% thumbnail name="bildname %> noch < image name="bildname" as="popup" %> bringen das gewünschte Ergebnis. Es öffnet sich nur einmal das Popup-Fenster, wenn man das wieder geschlossen hat, ist es auf Teufel komm raus nicht mehr zu bewegen, irgendetwas zu tun.

Bitte fixen - Zebu steht auf die aufpoppenden Fensterchen. :o)

Und wenn Ihr dabei seid: Vielleicht könnt Ihr dann auch die bei mir beschriebene Methode (die im Zweifelsfalle auch bei abgeschaltetem JavaScript zumindest das Bild anzeigt) implementieren.

a feature request: making images available in the rss-feed, in other words not filtering them...

Don't know since when, but probably since the antville-upgrade, rss-feeds are truncated. This is very annoying for people like me using rss-reader to scan a dozen of antville-logs on a daily basis. I cannot remember having seen any discussion about this, and if one adds this as new feature I think the question of truncating the feed after x chars is something the weblog-owner should decide...

ps: rss-related, but different problem: as noticed at this entry sometimes the title of a story doesnt make its way into the rss-feed and is replaced by "..."

update: i solved my problem and change this story to reflect the new situation, maybe someone finds it helpful:

well, that's what i _thought_. actually, there was no McKoi. I had copied over the data directory and the ~/db/antville directory and changed the obvious settings in ~/apps/antville/app.properties and ~/apps.properties, but there was no mckoi.jar in the lib dir, let alone an entry in the "%JARS"" variable in hop.bat. once i fixed that, it worked (i still have to fix some paths in the config files, but i'm pretty sure that'll be it).

it was all my fault, because didn't realize that while helma comes with demo applications that need a db, it doesn't come with a db.

now all i need is a howto on getting my antville data out of mckoi and into an oracle db. and, of course, on setting up that db (table definitions...). is something like lying around somewhere?
