Help!

Some logs are gone, are they coming back?

i created a new cleanup-script on adele that should prevent what happened this night (disk full ...), plus today evening antville.org will be down for about 1/2 an hour: the ram of adele will be doubled, and for this we have to power down the server. sorry for the inconvenience, but it's necessary.

Here's the result of a query I ran to see the differences between Antville CVS version and what's running on antville.org. I just included files which are not up-to-date. While I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing not to have the latest version running here, it's good to keep track of what's going on. I think the biggest potential problem are the things that were modified locally on antville.org but not checked in, because these things won't be updatable anymore from CVS without manual fiddling. I left out the type.properties files, which we know are one step ahead in CVS.

All the skins are gone, Ihope they can beresored from backup or something, Ofcourse I have my own backups asswell butt eej as long as the stories don't get lost ! Open SOurce Rules even thoug sometimes thing get a bit buggy now and then ! Keep up the good work guys DON'T PANIC

we're having some server troubles here at antville.org today. I'm not sure what the cause is, but it's not the traffic, as far as I can tell. Rather, it looks like Helma has some trouble with garbage collection and is continously growing in size (it's taking 340MB right now, althogh the heap size should be limited to 256MB) and taking a lot of CPU time.

This may or may not be related to a problem we have with logging.

I'm not sure what to do about it. If nobody comes up with a better solution, I suggest we update to the current Helma snapshot sometime today.

In other news, /referrers is still/again slow. Maybe changing the ACCESS table didn't fare well with the existing indexes and we should remove and re-create them?

könnt Ihr sofort deleten, pfalz zuviel dumm, das: wenn ich nach längere zeit (z.b. nach die nacht) wieder in antville reinschaue, habe ich einige der orte nich mehr im kopp, wo ich statements abgeladen habe. gleichzeitig habe ich manchmal nicht viel lust, einfach alle upgedateten antville logs durchzuchecken, ob jemand auf meine schoten geantwortet hat. kann man da was dran ändern, dass man ein bescheid bekommt, wo jemand etwas zu einem gesagt hat? damit man wieder antworten kann wegen die höflichkeit.

the default antville skins contain some direct references to antville.org which should be replaced by the url of the antville home. i noticed it on the root page and in confirmation mails. i'm going to change it for my server. are you interested in my modified skins?

let me know if there other occurances. what can we do with the buttons? sites hosted on my server are not residents of antville, are they?
