UPDATE: just checked it, search works fine in antclick. now the problem is what's wrong with your installation ... do you get any errors? did you modify the search-skin?

did it without any problems so far about my search problems: possibly i did such stupid (?) things as searching for topics or contributors names or the name of my log (since in the beginning there wasn't much else to search for ...) ... comment

Did you update your mckoidb.jar as explained in the Update 2 section from July 31? If not your database may have been corrupted, especially if you have long story texts. If you have valuable content in the database you should save the HTML pages before restarting Helma, since things may have gone/changed after restart.

howto backup data when updating? (i'm a total newbie) isn't there a better way to backup the data? can't i dump the database into a csv-ish file and read it back in later? if not, how else can i backup the database? saving the html only conserves the current state of my blog, but it doesn't help me to get the data back in. ... comment

antclick search doesn't work i installed the same package at a win 2000 machine and everything works fine except for the search feature. i don't get an error message on the page, nor on the console, it just doesn't find any match. no, i didn't alter the search skin. yes, i updated the mckoidb.jar. what else can i try? also, the recently modified box always shows 5 entries, no matter what value i set in the skin. anyway, who is in charge of the antclick distro? the antville guys, the helma guys, someone in particular?

reg. history: this is a bug in antclick: you have to edit the "main template" (page.skin) - there you'll find the history-macro where you can adjust the nr. of items in the recently modified-list. the history.skin (the one that's still listed in skineditor of antclick) was dropped. reg. antclick-search: please check if the weblog you're searching in is online ("public") - search won't find anything if the weblog is offline ("private"). should change that ...

thanks for the quick and precise help! or as my german friend wolfgang would say: ze short and pregnant help :-) yep, it's private, since it's my project blog at work and only my boss has a login so far. but setting it to public is no problem since it's only accessible over the intranet. the desired behaviour would be returning the usual output if the user is logged in, and an error message if not, right? maybe i'll submit a fix if i get too bored at work :-) ... comment
