looks like we found the reason(s) for the troubles we had here at antville.org the last days (thanks, hns!). and many thanks for your patience!

there's a possible problem with the new default skins of the "recently modified"-list: if you modified the main-skin of the list, but not the listitem-skin you'll get invalid html-code which results in a horizonal list for users of internet explorer/Mac (just osx?). to fix this do the following:

1. open the main template of your weblog in the skin-editor and search for the line that says (something like):

<% site.skin name="history" %>

2. replace this macro with:

<% site.history show="5" %>

(where you should change the "5" to the desired count of items in the list).

ha! now my "recently modified"-list is bussifein.

I like it...it's definitely loading faster and seems to be in good working order now. Thanks team Antville!

a lot. fast as light now. by the way, the problem with the "recently modified"-list also occurs with Mac 0S 9.1 and 8.6/IE. though it´s irrelevant now that you provided us with the solution...

@ robert: same problem with IE 5.1.5 and MacOS classic (recently-modified-box) - but your suggestion works very well. thanks to all of you at antville!
