Antville Project

update

from now on it should be impossible to create a topic which name contains forbidden characters (like /, &, # etc.). hope everything is fine, but if you discover any bugs please post them in here.

cool. I was actually afraid more people would fall prey to unaccessible topic names, and I would have felt personally responible for each of them.

I think that also Umlaute are problematic in topic names. Browser and Server makers are really only beginning to switch to Unicode, so the probability of something going wrong is very high. At least I had that problem, although it did work when the Umlaut was encoded, such as ü. Any thoughts on that? How does IE handle it?

right

there is a problem with umlaute also, although i had one setup working here (servlet engine) that didn't make any troubles. but i fear that chances are too high for running into trouble, so i think i'll put umlauts also into the list of forbidden characters (sadly enough).

ok

from now on umlaute and backslashes are not allowed anymore in topic-names. funny thing: i tested it with my installation here (tomcat 3.3a, windows), and: when using ajp12 spaces in urls work, but not umlaute (although they're encoded correctly). using ajp13 spaces don't work, but umlaute do ...
