Antville Project

Just for testing

I implemented the new story and comment skins here on project.antville.org. What do you think? Do we need more space between stories on the front page?

Nah, I think the space between stories is fine. But now I have to click on 'link' in order to be able to post a comment (at least as long there are no other comments), isn't that weird?

I'd say those to whom the wording of different functions matters most are the outsiders who don't know much about blogging and, for example, don't know what a permalink is. For the insiders, it's even okay if a permalink looks like on Textism (::), but if you don't know what to do with it, the word 'link' doesn't help.

One of the best workarounds is to only have a short intro on the front-page, topic-page etc. and below it a link named 'full story'. This eliminates the permalink issue, since no one would not link to the full story. When you do it like this, there's no reason to have a 'comment' link in the front-page, because you would post a comment after having read the full story.

But when you put the full story up front anyway, there absolutely has to be a 'comment' link underneath. I would add that, and rename the 'link' link.

By the way, the permalinks for comments are super-cool, bravo! I did that dozens of times, when I wanted to link to a comment, that I opened the page source, searched for the comment and copied the anchor number; yet I never had the idea that one could implement a convenient permalink there. I like.

that wasn't an intentional change.

i see

Oops, I made your comment looking a bit weird by changeing mine above :-) Explanation for others: hns refers to the first paragraph, which I hereby declare null and void. There's nothing weird (as soon as this is fixed ;-p).
