Crashing Antclick From the "Ich spiele alles kaputt"-Department: I just crashed my Antclick by having to reset the whole system. Helma / Antville wouldn't start up properly again after the reset, giving out all sorts of McKoi / java errors. Looks like I crashed my database. Now my question: How to turn off Antclick "safely"? How can something like this be happening? There was no writing to the database at the moment of the crash, at least not visibly. Oh, and is there a way to recover?

which kind of errors? could you post them here? ad shutting down antclick: the cleanes way imo is to use the manage-console (point your browser to localhost). if you've never used the management console you will have to configure it, just follow the instructions. once you're in the management console stop antclick by clicking on the appropriate link. and then shut down helma (by killing the processes or stopping the batch process/shell script, depending on the operating system). ... comment

I guess it would help to know which errors you get exactly.

Thanks. What's bothering me is that there was no writing to the DB when the crash happened, though it got broken. Is that perhaps something Mckoi specific? Could the same happen to a Mysql DB?

I think it's quite possible that Mckoi was writing while you shut down without your knowing. Mysql is certainly much more mature than Mckoi, but db corruption can always happen. ... comment
