Antville Project

a tiny antville modification

i would like to define the size of uploadable files in the setup of an antville installation. i can code it myself. are you willing to add my code to the default distribution? who do i send my changes to?

go ahead, chris

you know that contributions are always welcome, and if they're good they will of course be included in the default distribution. i'm really interested in that, so please send the code to robert at helma dot org (or, even better if it's not too long, post it here or at helma.org ).

erm...

i'm just trying to figure out where the size of an uploaded file is checked. it looks like the upload limit is not defined in antville. all i find is an if (param.uploadError) in filemgr/objectFunctions.js.

is the correct? if so then it doesn't make much sense to me restrict the upload limit to something less then 1 mb. i actually wanted to make a drop down menu with the values 0.5, 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 MB because something like 5 or 10 MB would be quite handy for my purposes.

grmml, i'm always forgetting that: the maximum upload size is defined in apps.properties (because it's handled by helma servlet afaik), so there's no way to influence that within application code (besides decreasing, which doesn't make that much sense)

uploadLimit = 5120

right? ha! that was easy. thanks.

appname.uploadLimit = 5120

where appname is the name of the application, antville or whatever you're using.

while working with it i found some bugs

  1. with logos: <% logo name="smallstraight" %> has text "made with antville", alt attribute "resident of antville.org" and links to the antville home. i think it should have the alt attribute "made with antville" and it should link to an appropriate page on antville.org.
  2. with skins: the "user (not) logged in" skins contain a "<div class="statuslight">...</div>" that is already defined in the main skin. you can drop them.
