edited messages i just checkd into cvs the file messages_en.js which contains the edited messages. please read through the text and let me know if this generally is the right direction we're aiming at. myself, i am not fully satisfied with the result. i tried to add instructional texts wherever i thought it would be necessary and i had an idea of where the message would appear. but some messages could fail in their context, so i am currently testing out misbehaviour and its results. i also added some comments, mostly about condensing two texts into one message. could be that there are even more possibilities like that. what do you think about it?

looks very good your new version of messages is indeed much better than the old one (first they sound nicer, and they explain what happened). i don't want to sound too picky, but the only part where i disagree with your comments is resultOne and resultMany: this would mean that we have to hardcode " item" in some functions (because for one item it should state "1 item", for more "n items"). and 'til now i don't know how we can get the uploadLimit-value from helma-servlet (but it would be nice to get it) - btw.: i think there is a problem with that in general because when an upload exceeds the limit the user won't see the error because all req.data-params are thrown away (and therefor just see the plain upload-form again). so maybe we should change that to a system-parameter (changed in setup which is coming soon). there is one strange thing with app.data[language]. from time to time i get error-messages in event.log complaining a nullpointer-exception in line two of message_en.js (and messages_de.js). i couldn't figure out when this happens, but it looks like app.data disappeared?! can you confirm that?

no, not picky i just did not get the error message right. if there are two messages because otherwise a word like "item" or "items" resp. needs to be hard-coded somewhere else then i don't think it's a good idea to change this. ok with me. no confirmation from me for the lost app.data object. which only means that i did not observe this closely at all... ... comment
