html comments

is the fact that html comments like <!-- this one --> are displayed in stories using the most recent antville/helma snapshots due to the new html parser? example (at the story's bottom).

once more that future post thing

The issue as such was discussed before. However, at present, the phenomenon which I found annoying in that thread recurs: when people post a story with a future date, it stays on top of the update list. Would it be possible to show only updates with a date/time in the past?

typo

in weblog/search.hac ... else if (found <= 10) res.body += "<i>Found "+found+" items for '"+query+"'.<i>"; ... res.body += "<i>Found "+found+" items for '"+query+"'. "; res.body += "Displaying items "+(start+1)+" to "+end+".<i>"; the second <i> should read </i> (i use divs instead of tables, so i found this one :)

topic-macro or else

how could one include the contents of the topics page into eg. the frontpage?

i tried <% topicmgr.loopskin name="link" %> from the topicmgr.main skin, but this wont work.

on the other hand: a macro like <% weblog.topics %> would be nice.

having snips or items

as i mentioned in a post in my weblog, some things just don't fit into the structure provided by antville. take for example people i would like to integrate into my weblog. they are neither "topical" nor "stories" (maybe there is a story attached to them and/or they fit into a specific topic, but i consider them different to those two).

the way vanilla handles those occurences (defining them as instances in your "space") seems quite appropiate to me. they are on the same hierarchichal level as posts on your startpage are (space/snip and space/start).

please take this as a suggestion, i am just writing a personal wishlist.

"my favorite blog"-list

would be nice to have a macro that displays recently modified blogs of my choice. within antville this is probably easy to manage, but how about external blogs?

it should work a little bit like this:

  • i specify the url of the blog in a textfield and add it to the list of "my favorite blogs"
  • with a macro i can add this list to the frontpage (like the recently modified list)

i thought of writing a workaround in php, but not all of my favorite blogs provide a "data" field in their rss feed. probably there is another possibility i am just not thinking of.
