i just checked out from cvs the changes hannes made recently for enabling custom createtimes as well as a slight change regarding how story, comment and weblogs are marked as "updated" according to a previous request by kris: from now on stories and comments (and certainly their parent weblogs) are only marked as "updated" if more than +/- 50 characters have changed in the text. that means you should not see old stories and comments popping up in the history just because of a deleted word or a corrected spelling anymore.

however, i am not sure if the createtime macro works as it should. would be nice if somebody else could check it out...

i'm trying to get antville running as the main app using the built in server. what is the trick? (i changed "baseURI = /antville" to "baseURI = /" in antville's properties and "baseURI = /" to "baseURI = /base" in base's properties, but base is still running as main app.)

It is currently almost impossible to track weblogs that are less frequently updated from the Antville home page.

Proposed solution:

Include the <% currentUser.webloglist %> macro, which is currently used only on the subscriptions page, on the frontpage in addition to the list tracking all public weblogs.

My site 2012.antville.org is a little different than most, I post science stories rather than a personal diary. I aim to post one story a day, and find it handy to keep a few stories in reserve for when I need them - so I create the stories and leave them "offline"

But when I place them online, they have the date of creation - is there anyway of changing the date of a story

As there seems to be much more going on here than in the help weblog I ask my question here. I have looked into the preferences and into the skins but could not find a way to change the default status when creating a new story from offline to online. This surely must be possible. I can't imagine all people with public weblogs on antville change the status from offline to online each time they post. Is there a simple explanation or is it a difficult skin/macro editing thing? Great weblog tool BTW.
