I don't want my weblog to appear in the list of updated weblogs on the antville homepage. Is there any possiblitiy for such a setting (like a checkbox show/don't show on update list) that I still haven't found?

This is new for me...my own little diary I guess. Maybe I'll keep it hidden, maybe I won't. Got the idea from a friend. A way to express my feelings and ideas and let go of some anger without killing someone. First things first, one day until Jake's Birthday, one day until the maddness for the weekend breaks out. I'm not sure how smooth things are going to go. I wish i could say that they will go great, but I cant. There are some people, well some girls, that i REALLY dont want to be here. But then again, I'm not exactly the type of person that will tell them what I think. Good thing we have two bouncers this weekend...Dudley and Nolan ;) School....half way over!!! thank god. I dont mind my classes but I dont think I can take much more of the bitches, if you know what i'm talking about! Back problems, yeah got that. Last night was a bad night. Slept actually, but in lots and lots of pain. Jake came over to try to help me relax. I was glad about that. Glad he was here and not with people I dont like too.

i just checked in the changes i had to make in the antville code to better conform with the xhtml spec (ie. this does not affect what's running jere at antville.org).

i verified almost every antville page (ie. i left out the sysadmin stuff and probably some pages i did not think of) against validator.w3.org and modified the skins where necessary. by the way i was able to fix some minor bugs, too.

however, i know about three validation errors that will remain, yet:

1. the attribute wrap="virtual" in textarea elements is invalid.
2. the name attribute in option elements is invalid.
3. the skin url queries ("?proto=image&name=preview") in the skin manager cause strange validator errors.

i left these imperfections as is because for the first two errors i don't know about a simple fix, yet, and for the third one i assume this must be a bug in the validator (please correct me if i am wrong).

moreover, i tried to achieve a more consistent layout for some pages (e.g. images, files, polls). i hope i achieved this goal and more important that nothing is broken. your comments are welcome.

Remember when we found out that you can't use as few valid tags in your stories because they aren't listed in the appropriate 'filter function'? I compiled a list of the missing tags, but they haven't been added yet. Would be nice if you could catch up on that.

While working on folder support over the weekend and got lost in some fancy DHTML code to browse folders. Following a spontaneous impulse, I thought it would be nice to have that kind of DHTML browsing on weblogs, too. I'm not sure now, however you can check it out by appending "/archive" to the URLs of all weblogs here on antville.org (e.g. project.antville.org. The browser side script should run on IE and Mozilla. I doubt whether it will run in any other browser. Feedback and bug reports/fixes welcome.

Update: works for topics, too.

how do I write new entries and stuff like that??

If I want to read the comments on hirnverbr.antville, the server tells me that he can't find the story. The start page works, though.
